    Hi Mr. Spids,

I have a business in this sector (ie. an online Pet shop) and as i'm sure you know its a very competitive industry. It's very important to have a USP, there are so many places people can buy from and unless you have a very attractive reason for them to change their buying habits it's very difficult to do.

Make a list of advantages that your business offers, better food, healthier, 20% cheaper than your competitors etc and focus on these. Newspapers and trade magazine ads can be very expensive, if you use them make sure they are very targeted and offer some sort of offer or coupon so you can measure return on investment. I would suggest asking all of your current clients for referrals, one horse stable in an area would probably know the owner of the other ones in the area. If they think you're giving them a good deal and agree that you're service would benefit their friends in other stables, then they would be happy to give you the introductions.

    Hope that helps a little.

Do you have a website where you detail your products so I could have a closer look at the horse feed products? My wife owns www.irishponys.com so she could be interested possibly.
