going to reseed a small piece of land about 2 acres .It is very bad with rushes so am going to spray off with roundup first .When can i do this and how long after before i could plough it. Also how much would you think it should cost, will pick the stones and roll it myself the rest will be done by contractor .Thanks for any advice

im reseeding 55 acre of stuble, spray worked out around €9 acre then anonther €8-10 to spray it, sowing €25 acre wit a one pass on ploughing just give it a run of a grubbin myself first, €45 acre grasseed, then fertilizer

You could usually plough 10-14 days after spraying Roundup depending on growing conditions. Ploughing and sowing with a one-pass would usually cost €50-€60/acre but I can't really see anyone coming out to 2 acres for €100, I wouldn't be inclined to pay more than €200 though. Grass seed will cost you €40-€45/acre depending on the mix and you'd probably want 3 bags of 18-6-12 to the acre as well.

dont spray until growth starts , you can plough a week after spraying if growth is good ,mid to late april is the earliest i would reseed due to risk of frost

Round up wont work till we get some growth, whenever. One rub of a power harrow 30e/ acre. grass seeds 40e/ acre. 3 bags of 10 10 20 ?

might want to throw in some MCPA. along with the roundup, to really tackle the rushes

Is 40-45 enough to spend on the seed? I put in seven acres of Top 5 extend from Germinal seeds last spring with a bit of extra clover mixed through. Spending an extra 10-15 an acre might be worthwhile.
