Tremors Unit

    Hi Guys

Bought a Tremors unit of WGCSHOP.com

All I can say is WOW! It really is a great bit of kit.
I fitted it to my G&G/TopTech M4. It fitted quite easily as long as you don't mind taking your gearbox apart.
In the gearbox you replace your spring guide with the kits bearing spring guide, which has a bigger thread hole in it.
You also replace the screw that holds your piston head in place.
You replace it with an 8mm bolt screw. This screw pushes the main weight in the unit.
That is the gearbox finished with.
You have to take out your existing screw that holds your stock tube in place and replace it with a cylinder and larger diameter screw from the kit.

;)Please note this kit fits inside a standard stock tube!!
I tried it in a magpul and the inner dimensions are not large enough.;)

Next the stainless weight unit drops in through the cylinder and screw/bolt. Not forgetting the small spring that goes on to the bar end of the weight first.
Next drop in the large spring and screw on the end cap supplied. This cap must lock onto the outside of the stock tube and replaces your original cap.

This unit comes with very simple and easy picture instructions.:D

Once fitted I test fired it a couple of times on semi, everything worked fine. I then put a full midcap through it in short bursts, again all good.
Then as a final test I put 2 midcaps through it on full auto (not something I would normally do). Everything perfect. So it should be up to the regular skirmishes needs.

I chronoed my aeg and there was an increase of on average 7 fps.
So if you are fitting one and you are at the joule mark you may have to change your spring accordingly.

How did it feel to fire?? AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!

I used to have an AGM gas blow back and the kick felt as good as that did. But with non of the cool down effects.

Sorry no photos was too eager to fit it and test it.
This took no more than an hour to fit as long as you are happy enough to strip an AEG!:D

For that added bit of realism buy one you won't be disappointed:D;):pac::)

My question; how much and did you feel you got the worth out of it?

Was it worth it?? Hell yes!!!

    It cost $73 plus shipping.
    Fitted like a dream.
    Very good quality components.

Feels like a gbb, without the drawbacks of a gbb!
    Perfect.

Attachment is a picture of the kit you get from WGC.

Never really found too many drawbacks with gbb rifles though? You'd run out of ammo before any cool down is a factor tbh.Cold days can be counter acted by simply using co2 mags (if the gbb allows) Only drawbacks I find are the lack of hi caps and price of extra mags but aside from .... that the kick, the action, the realistic breakdown, the simplicity of design all far out weigh the cons.

Like the idea of these kits but seems like a lot of hassle for the sake of making an aeg like a gbb when you can buy a gbb no greasy hands included for a tiny amount more (depending on the aeg of coarse)

Think the future of these sytems is having them pre built into the aeg from manufacture or as an optional extra at purchase of the aeg.

Definately the CO2 mag ones are much better than standard gas.:)

I personally didn't find the power in a gbb consistant enough, due to weather, cooldown, etc. But that is just my opinion. I know loads of people enjoy skirmishing with them. I think I just prefer an AEG and with this unit it just adds to the experience for me.

I was unsure of these but it sounds like it works, is the blow back on a par with a GBBR?

I'd nearly get an m16 to get one of these kits going by your review.

I think it is about the same kick as a GBB!:D
A CO2 one would have more kick though.

The unit only fits in a standard stock tube, so a solid stock M16 wouldn't work, unless you change the stock. Also your AEG would have to be front wired as there is no space for cables, etc in the stock tube once the kit is fitted.:)

Any idea as to if this would fit in a G&G/ Top Tech 416?

If the battery is wired to the front it should!:)
If the battery is rear wired it won't.:( There is no room for the unit and the cables.
It has to be a standard stock tube not the one with a cut out for cables.

Its the same kind of stock tube thats in this pic. Its wired to the front

The one you show in your picture has a cutout in it, so the unit could slip down a fraction. The new stock tube cap that comes with the kit needs to lock against the end of the stock tube.

You can still use your stock but it would be better to replace the tube with one of these:

    Found some info;

Apparently you need a piston with metal teeth, this guy installed it into his VFC SR16 and the piston stripped after a day of test firing.

But other than that this looks awesome, would it fit in a SR-25 gear box?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,532 ✭✭✭Rooky1

Should fit the SR25, but again it needs to have a standard stock tube for the unit to fit in.

That review was pretty good that you posted.

Not sure that you really need a full metal teeth piston though.
I put another 2 full midcaps through it today on full auto until empty and a further 2 on a mixture of semi and short bursts. Fired perfectly and great fun.
Afterwards I stripped the gearbox down just to check and so far no abnormal wear.
Have to say I couldn't be happier with it.

Hi, would one of these fit to my Dboys M4A1 CASV? The stock is standart, wiring in front. The stock tube look the same like on the picture you post up.

Yes it should fit with no problems.:)
