Delighted to be able to bring this to you, because I'm a big fan of Amy, Shane, Philippa, Rory and Niall. Been to see them a load of times :)

The Diet of Worms are headlining in the Button Factory, Temple Bar on Saturday evening and we've got 5 pairs of tickets to give away.

Cult sketch comedy group Diet of Worms take to the stage of Dublin's Button Factory on Saturday March 13 with their first headline show in the capital for nearly two years.

The Worms formed in 2006 when Philippa Dunne, Amy Stephenson, Rory Connolly, Niall Gaffney and Shane Langan met and began writing together.

The group have since been regulars on the Irish comedy circuit and have also taken three full length shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. One of their more bizarre shows took place in 2007 when they performed ‘Diet of Worms on (Melted) Ice’ completely in a swimming pool.

For the last two years, they have hosted the popular monthly Puffincat Comedy Club, which has featured many of the UK and Ireland’s best comedians, including Maeve Higgins, Pappy’s Fun Club and Tim Key. In 2008 the group also enjoyed a guest residency at the Carlsberg Comedy Carnival.

Known for their internet videos such as Dublin Stories (broadcast on RTE2 as part of Project HaHa) and YouTube sensation Adventures of Puffincat (over half a million views worldwide), The Worms will give the audience on the night a chance to meet their newest creation, The Walsh Family, through the screening of their new web series The Taste of Home.

All five episodes including the previously unseen final episode will be shown on the big screen over the course of the night.

Shane Langan from the group said "We haven't done a big headline gig like this in Dublin for a while now, so we are really raring to go and put on a really great show."

The night will be hosted by the wonderful Eric Lalor (Joy in The Hood, RTE). Eric is a resident MC in both The Laughter Lounge and The Axis in Ballymun.

Support on the night will come from the always unique and mesmorising Paul Currie.

"Diet of Worms have a definite hint of 'The Young Ones'... definitely a group to look out for."
    Three Weeks (Edinburgh)

"Reminiscent of a young mixed gender Monty Python ensemble."
    The Skinny Fest (Edinburgh)

I've been watching the series from week 1 on their YouTube channel and have to admit to loving it :D

Want a chance to win the tickets? Just drop your name below with your favourite joke - doesn't matter if we've heard them before. Keep them clean though ;)

I'll be picking the winners on Friday afternoon and letting them know then. Competition is open to all Boards.ie members. :)

    Thanks

    Darragh

Billy and Jack decide to go ice fishing.
After arriving at the lake early in the morning, they cut two holes in the lake and drop in their lines in the water.
After fishing for a few hours, Billy has caught dozens of fish while Jethro hasn't even gotten a bite.

Jack asks, "Billy, what's your secret?"

Billy answers, "Mmu motta meep da mmrms mmrm."

Jack asks, "What did you say?"

Billy answers, "Mmu motta meep da mmrms mmrm."

    Jack again asks, "What?"
Billy spits into his hand and says, "You gotta keep the worms warm!"
