iphone intunes ibook problem

My ibook is causing me some grief as follows: 1. itunes has lost ALL artwork and now album covers are black. It won't link with itunes library on the hard drive to get artwork back 2. the box where the tick box appeared before beside each song now looks like a smudge and I can not order the songs by name, date, title etc.…

My ibook is causing me some grief as follows:

2. the box where the tick box appeared before beside each song now looks like a smudge and I can not order the songs by name, date, title etc.

3. my iphone photos do not sync with iphoto when connected and I can not figure out a work-around

Are these symptoms connected? Sound familiar?

I have tried resetting all devices and updating from my 9.02 itunes to 9.3
