What is wrong with people?

I usually avoid this crap but fcuk me this guy has issues.

This guy beat this girl so bad, she need her intestines removed and all because she was crying all the time

A two-year-old girl is in St. Louis Cardinal Glennon hospital recovering from a surgery that removed 18-feet of her intestines following a severe beating allegedly delivered by the hands of her mother's boyfriend.

Doctors say the toddler, Amanda Runyon, also suffered a broken arm and bruising about her body. She may have to eat the rest of her life through a feeding tube.

Yesterday the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department arrested 24-year-old Kraig Monroe in his trailer outside Belleville, charging him with aggravated battery of a child. He's being held on $500,000 bond.

Authorities say the beatings began last week when the girl wouldn't stop crying.

The Globe-Democrat reports that the girls mother came home Sunday night and gave the child Motrin. The next day she was vomiting and in and out of consciousness. The child was taken Belleville Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Cardinal Glennon where doctors there contacted law enforcement.

This afternoon the St. Clair Police report that they have condemned the trailer in which Monroe for living and charged the 78-year-old landlord and owner of the trailer for failing to get an occupancy permit. Authorities also removed a pit bull that Monroe kept on the premises. (Pit bull, trailer, and child-beating? A true low-life trifecta!)

I agree there is something wrong with the story here as in the beating of the 2 year old but looking at it do you not see that there is something wrong with the story as well. As in its a stero typical attack on a social class. The post above proves it..."White trailer trash"

This is whats wrong with society and I would not be surprised if this is whats wrong in america. ie lack of social workers.

As this is in after hours I would have to say I agree "American White trailer trash" however as many thousends of middle class americans have now lost thei homes and will end up in tents and trailers it will now become impossible to simply blame white trailer trash on the wrongs of the world.

What have you learned... More about the social class than the injury victum. I will leave it with you to figure but replace the destination with tallaght or ballymun and see what its reflecting about the classes.

Its sad what happened to the child but what needs to be reported on more and tell me would it be any sadder if it happened in blackrock..

Yes... with your opinion i can see why people from ballymun and tallaght have trouble getting jobs

People don't make up stereotypes, stereotypes evolve based on long observation and are usually, but not always, very accurate. Even if we don't like to admit it.

You don't need social workers, what you need are people who are prepared to shoulder their own responsibilities in life and get on with it in a decent and law-abiding manner even if they don't have a 50" HDTV or whatever else the American dream is promising this week.

Being poor sucks and is not a crime but being a childbeater just because you are disadvantaged is not compulsory. How many of the new poor will spend their last few dollars on a pit bull? I don't think the WTT buy them for pets in the way that many decent people do.

The only consolation I can take from this is that hopefully the hardcore prisoners in wherever he is going will do to him more than what he did to that little girl. Will serve the fucker right. Beatin on a child. Thats the lowes form of low down scum there is.

I was not flippant, I am not a middle class snob, I'm not even middle class, I'm an ordinary working man who can't even afford a fancy semi-automatic pistol. It's not up to me to explain what happened to a child thousands of miles away nor am I in any way responsible for it. The parents were.

Are you advocating that the social services target all trailer dwelling families to check are they taking good care of their children? Sounds extreme but how else will we know? If not what do you propose?

Seriously when did I bring anything up about social workers? But since you ask what I would advocate are social workers with a smaller work load so they can concentrate on individual cases and therefore avoid more of these tragedies. Sadly things like this are always going to happen but how many times has it come to light that services knew that the child was at risk.

Not so sure about stereotyping (such a word?) parts of the general population but child abuse/neglect is the lowest of the low regardless of background/race/creed or finanical situation. This might sound like a cliche... but I feel even in this country you need a licence to look after a dog, but you don't for a child.



This guy should be left in the general population of his local state pen for, say, two weeks... that should do it.



.... then after his release from hospital back to the pen.



Hope the poor little girl gets a chance with a real family sometime soon.
