Hi folks I'm trying to help a friend find a laptop.
I'm more of a desktop man myself so I'm not much help.

I think this Dell inspiron 1564
    http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/4809911/art/dell/inspiron-1564-black.html

is the best bang for his buck at just under €600 it's the cheapest laptop I can find with an i3 processor, 4 gigs and win 7 64.
I think It's just inside his price range.
Does anyone know the quality of the build / screen on these laptops?
I see there is no DVI out but it may important for him to be able to interface with various external AV devices.
(I'm guessing he could use a DVI-HDMI dongle to get around that and
rather than spending a large amount on funky pre installed sound IO ports he could add them through cheapo usb dongles.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

He really has to mind himself for a while (doctor's orders:() so I want to do best I can on his tight budget.

    Thanks for reading.
