Multiple dongles

Is it worth getting 2 dongles from O2 so that the cap can be increased to 30 GB?

My speeds aren't too bad considering I'm in an area with a very bad DSL exchange and where wireless antennae are not permitted by management.

I get about 2MB off peak and 800KB to 1 MB during peak times.

the cap is the killer because I love Youtube and P2P sports streaming!

I would use one dongle when the cap from the other has been reached.

It's not a bad idea, and you've little choice by the sound of things. You don't actually need a 2nd modem, all you need is the SIM card, which you swap over when the cap is reached. It could save you a few euro if you didn't have to buy the modem.

True, although I was gonna just set up 2 accounts because I think you get the modem free for every account you open.

Has anybody else done this? Will cost about €40 a month for 0.5-2 Mb and 30 GB cap so it's actually not too bad.

No issue in doing that (other than being a pain to every other user on that cell's sector!). Just don't use the 2 together (because the available bandwidth to you wont't be as high as just using one modem).

Last I checked you had to buy the modem to get the BB sim/tariff, but check to see that's still the case, and save yourself a few bob (the free thing is just a promotion, right?).

Also, if you don't consistently go over the 15GB, you could just use prepaid BB with a daily or monthly pass after you use up the 15GB for a given month. That way you're only committing to the 1 package every month, but have the option for more download allowance if you need it. You'll need to do the maths on that to see if it suits your usage.

Finally, make sure to try the other mobile BB providers to see if quality is better than o2. If it's around the same it might be better to at least have the choice of 2 providers (in case one network goes to pot for a few hours, as they tend to do).

This is what I'm already doing. It works fine for me, couple words of advice,

if you getting a second modem try to get the same model as what you already have as the huawei sw tends to stop working if you use different models with the same dashboard.

Or if your planning on swapping sims mark them in some way just to be sure you don't confuse the 2 sims (I used some nail varnish :) ).

Finally monitor your usage of each number closely using My Account just in case you mistakenly use the wrong sim.
