Activities to illustrate "Organic Planning in a firm"

    Hi guys,
    I am a HR masters student and was hoping someone could help me. I have a project to do for college on Organic planning of a firm....
    in order to illustrate what an organic business is I must create an activity in order to teach the class about the topic...

    Has anybody got any funny ideas on how I can demonstrate this topic to the class and in turn get them to understand the topic as a result...

    How in Gods name do I make Organic Planning sound "sexy" or perhaps interesting....

    Thought I would post it here because I think Marketeers are usually very creative!!

    Any ideas are very welcome...

    I'm familiar with operational planning, strategic planning, but I would be interested to know what is meant by 'organic planning' and how does it differ from the former types?

    Definition: Strategic planning often focuses on what needs to be fixed in the current plan. The Organic method works because it focuses on building the future on current successes.

    Organic Strategic Planning is a unique approach to company growth. It changes the traditional strategic planning paradigms by focusing on identifying the best practices, processes, and methodologies in an organisation. Organic Strategic Planning retains and expands on what is already working by employing a filter created from the organisation’s values, mission, and vision.
    The traditional approach to strategic planning often focuses on identifying and fixing problems. Being aware of where organisational changes are needed and courageously working on them can be quite effective. The unfortunate downside to focusing on problems is that, after a while, the organization forgets what it does best and focuses only what it does worst!


    Do you know of any roles plays / activities or tasks I could give the class to do, or perhaps for myself to do in order to teach this topic in a creative way to the class...
