    Hey dudes,

My driving test is on Saturday and first of all i am RREALLY nervous and wondering if anyone has any tips on how to stay calm?

Also, how many times is a fault marked as a Grade 1 before it turns into a Grade 2??

And if you can't do your reverse around a corner/or you mount the kerb whilst doing it do you fail automatically???

What else leads you to fail automatically??

Please help i really appreciate it!!
    thanks

Grade 1 is marked 2 times. 3rd time it becomes a Grade 2

And if you can't do your reverse around a corner/or you mount the kerb whilst doing it do you fail automatically???

If you mount the kerb you will get a Grade 3 fault which is a "Dangerous/Potentially Dangerous fault" You can glance the kerb. That is different entirely.

Can you expand on "Cannot Do" the reverse? What exactly do you mean, are you having trouble with it?
What else leads you to fail automatically??

A Grade 3 Fault is: Dangerous/Potentially Dangerous fault, or total disregard of traffic controls.

This can cover loads of things to be honest.

Are you getting lessons from an ADI?

    Thanks for the link!

like mostly i can manage the reverse around the corner but sometimes i'm further out than i'm supposed to be or sometimes if i'm reversing up a hill i do sort of mount the kerb  what does "glance" the kerb mean?

Yup i have an excellent driving instructor he's telling me not to worry but i can't help it you know?!

Glancing the kerb is when the side wall of the tyre brushes the kerb.

If you are too far out from the kerb during the reverse you could be marked for competency. You can be marked only twice in Grade 2 (not 4 times like other sections).

The secret to the reverse is to control your speed as much as possible. This will allow you to correct any steering errors before they get out of hand. You are not required to bring your foot completely off clutch, (though you may need to bring the clutch up fully and use the gas if you are reversing uphill). This controls your speed.

    Slow speed - Slow steering.

I'm sure your ADI will allow you to practice your reverse. If you'd like more time spent on that particular part just ask him or her.

A grade 1 fault is always a grade 1 fault even if you repeat the same fault 20 times.
