    ..sorry, have to.

I have a query on how soon to the anniv date I can get a test, booked now. And how long that cert will be for.

    They close at 16:00.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Car first registered in March 2006
    First NCT required March 2010
NCT can be taken in Dec 09, Jan 10, Feb 10 or Mar 10.

If NCT taken in any of the 3 months prior to the month of first registration, the NCT disc will be untill Mar 2012

I've had cars NCT's in Galway up to 9pm in the past.

Has the company doing the NCT changed yet?

I'm pretty sure you can get the car NCT'd up to 6 months in advance of the cars 4th birthday. The 3 month period applies to subsequent tests. I also think that regardless of when the test is done, the NCT will be valid until exactly 24 months after the initial registration date of the car. (i.e. Car registered on 20-Feb-06, passes NCT on 03-Mar-2010, NCT valid until 20-Feb-2012.

Thanks, but it isn't. It's not getting a date that's the issue, it's information.

I have a June 1994 car, and I need to find out how late I can leave it, to still get a 2 yr cert. Galway are telling me to ring 'customer service'..........hence the loop........

If it's due this June then that's the latest you can leave it. If you leave it till say September it will still run until June 2012

Since the car is 16 years old, won't the cert be valid for just 12 months?

Ah maybe that's what he was asking which would render my last post useless... Just like the other 8000 odd of them I suppose
