    if i were to guess i would say its the old connector for mobile phone car kits.

    but to be safe i wouldnt go over 50 mph.

    It is for a phone cradle.
    Car would have come from factory wired to there in case you wanted to buy the audi phone cradle. It kind of redundant now with bluetooth although they still seem to come with this.

    Do a bluetooth scan with your phone to see if the car has the BT kit. When I had my 2005 I was driving around for 2 weeks till I happened to notice it had full factory BT kit with voice control!!

    Guy I bought it off in the uk didn't have a clue either.
