Hi, I'm thinking of buying a PS3 and have checked out some offers online but I'm wondering if any of you know of any good bundle offers for the PS3.

I checked Xtravision and they've got a few offers

250GB console with a choice of Ratchet & Clank, Heavy Rain or Uncharted 2 for €349.99 or 250GB console with 2 blu-ray's, a remote control and a choice of FIFA 10, Dragon Age Origins, Need For Speed, Tiger Woods, Army Of Two or Bad Company 2 for €364.99

Smyths are offering a 250GB Uncharted 2 pack for €349.99 or an 80GB (non slim) Killzone 2 pack for €299.99.

At the moment I'm liking the Xtravision offer for €349.99 but if anybody has any better bundle offers I'd be willing to hear them.

Please note that I don't have the luxury of heading up to the North to get one or own a credit card so online offers are a no go too unfortunately.

Don't think you'll get too much better than that from local shops to be honest!

I tried ringing Game and Gamestop but I couldn't get through. I'll try again in a bit.

It's up to you but I don't see the point in getting the 250GB harddrive unless it's very little more than the 120GB one.

You're probably right. I'll probably just stick to the 120GB. I believe you can get a bigger hard drive if you wish.

Yep, what would you be using your PS3 for? Just games or movies and videos as well?

Yup, most laptop sized drives work, and if you're using it as a media player I'd probably recommend an external drive anyway.

Yeah, I'd recommend either an external or just using the PS2 Media Server and keep the PS hard drive for games and stuff.

I'd probably use it for movies and games too I suppose. If I were to be able to hook up an external drive via USB to the PS3 would that pick it up?

Yep as long as it's FAT32. I have a couple of WD ones and they're always FAT32 but, it's not too hard to format them after you buy them if they're NTFS.

Try the PS3 Media Server anyway, I think the picture quality depends on how good the processor on your pc is. It plays most videos flawlessly but, some of the higher quality ones may have to be transferred to the external.

Once the Harddrive is formatted to FAT32, yes. Most new harddrives are NTFS when you buy them. If you need to reformat the harddrive to FAT32 just connect it to your computer and run this. Then work away with putting whatever you want on it. :)
