    Because they work? They've always put function over form, though often times the form is really quite pretty. Look at a Udaloy vs a Spruance, or a Krivak vs a Perry.

    That, is the one, and only, anti-ship model of the Caspian Sea Monster (Ekranoplan) , Lun, with 6x SS-N-22 Sunburns, and two twin gun turrets. (Which are a bit odd. I'd hate to be in the front turret when the missile launches).

    Doesn't look in great condition, seems they dragged it on shore and just left it there for a couple of years. Pity.

    I wonder what good the elevator is on the tail, though? Not as if they'll be making many altitude, or even attitude changes.
