    Lads,

The bumper was damaged on the car lately and it's fecked. The pops wants to put back on the same colour bumper of course. What the best way to attain one of these, Could I go to a scrapyard or buy a new one and get it sprayed. Is spraying expensive? Any other options?

    Cheers...

Cheers Dancor, Gold seems to be a hard colour to come by.

You can buy a brand new bumper from here for around €100:

    http://www.micksgarage.ie/CarSpec.aspx?mode=drilldown&DeptID=99&Make=Ford&Model=Mondeo%202001-2007&BaseModel=&Year=&Engine=&PetrolDiesel=&TYPE=Bumpers

You will then need to have it primed and painted, probably talking another €100 if not more depending who does it. The best thing to do might be pick one up in a scrap yard cheap and have that painted to match your colour.

Alternatively give Traynors up North a ring and see if they have one in the correct colour. They are a huge scrap dealer and delivery to the South regularly. Just note though that even if you find a used one in gold it might not be a perfect match for your car.

I had to replace mine 3 weeks ago on my 04 Mondeo. Cost me €350 in total, got a second hand bumper for €60 the same color as my car but it still needed to be sanded, primed, painted, fitted and labour on that was €290. It depends on how lucky and fussy you are. You might be lucky to get a half decent one second hand that will only have minor marks. I visited a few scrap yards and they don't exactly look after them when storing them as they expect anyone buying them to be getting them painted. Another place quoted me €600 for the same job so shop around.

Just a little update and maybe this will help someone in the future.

Got the same colour bumper as my car at a scrap yard. Found it thru partfinder.ie (cheers to Dancor), It was off an 05 mondeo, Little white mark on 1 side but in good nick otherwise 100 euro. Got the few screws that go with it too in case there was some lost off my own one. Fitted it with my da. Agood philips screw driver and a socket (think it was a 8mm) and a pliers is all the tools that should be needed to take off the old one and put on the new one. Fitted in a half hour.

    Simples.
