Could you help Eilish cover a building in Limerick in a woollen blanket for charity?

This has come into my inbox and I thought it would be good to share with you:

    16875_273291238794_266235558794_3309167_2720423_n.jpg

    It reads:
    Hi Knitters and Knitting Groups

My name is Eilish and I am a 3rd year sculpture student in Limerick School of Art and Design.

I am working on a project called Urban Knit. I will be covering either fully or partially an empty rental building in Limerick city in a large knitted blanket.

I am writing to youto ask if you would like to participlte in the project by knitting and donatoing one or more A4 sized patches. This installation is made of patches so I do need quite a lot of them and would be very grateful for your contribution.

I am also in need of wool so if you have any leftover scraos these would be greatly appreciated.

    Yours in Knitting

    Eilish Tuite

    Furthermore:
When the project has been completed, the blanket will be separated into smaller knitted blankets which will then be donated to the St Patrick's Hostel on Clare St, Limerick, run by the St. Vincent de Paul.

The charity is very deserving and has helped a lot of people in Ireland, and that's why this project will give something back to them.

After seeing the Vodafone knitting ads, Eilish got in touch with Vodafone Ireland they helped her make this video to promote what she's doing:

So, could Boards.ie members help her? Could you? All Eilish's details are on Facebook, but it'd be cool to think that we could be part of brightening Limerick and helping a very worthwhile cause.

You're under no obligation to be involved and no, Vodafone aren't paying us to spam you with this - I just was told about the project, thought it pretty cool and well worth a mention!

    Cheers

    Darragh

Sounds like a fantastic project!! Definitely think there are some dedicated knitters on here that can help :)

Personally, I am hoping to figure out how to start knitting over the next few weeks and have yet to actually buy some needles.. but once I'm up and knitting I'll help for sure!!

    Heyo,

This isn't a Vodafone ad, though. It's an Art Student's art project. Vodafone are sponsoring it :)

Loads of knitting groups in Dublin (or cork, wherever you are). Call into a yarn shop and ask about em!
