The first programme meets Jonathon Simpson, a farm owner and horse-breeder, to discover what it means to be Barbadian during the run-up to the island's Independence Day celebrations

    Storyville: Race Horses
    Documentary following three promising horses over the course of a difficult racing year in Ireland. The individual characteristics of the animals are revealed as the programme combines the drama of competition with an exploration of an ancient human obsession (this was filmed at Paul Nolans yard).

    for me he's very honest and straight up with the owners.. he's a great character as well.

    Just watched the Nolan programme, 90 mins flew by. Great look at the travails of a trainer, of course they struck lucky in that it was the year Joncol came to prominance so the makers had a nice story for the programme.
