    I'll keep this short... Had a Fu~k Buddy thing with a girl for a while and then we both became involved with people at about the same time... stopped seeing each other but we have recently had the odd text... Innocent stuff like enquiring about new adressess and did she change her number etc.... anyway they were finished with winking smileys... why is she doing that????? Any theories guys?? I obviously have my own thoughts on it but i would like a neutral take on her motives???

    Hey,

    What would you like her to mean? If you want to start up the FB relationship again I'd just ask her out straight, I mean that's the point of a FB isn't it, all the sex with no games. That's assuming you want to restart things. Maybe she was just being friendly, ask her I'd say.

    some people put winking smilies at the end of EVERYTHING in texts, a girl i work with puts "!lol :) " at the end of every text I've ever gotten off her, most of them arent even something shes being funny about, its just habit i guess, just ask her straight out, the entire point of a FB (speaking from experience) is that theres sex without all the hoop jumping that comes with some relationships

    Probably just a habit. I sometimes accidentally put an x at the end of work related customer reminder texts, just cos I do it to my mates and its a habit. Must make the customers wonder!


    I bet she thinks it just makes the message more pally and she doesnt want to use an x or full on smiley.

    Dont the nuances of text protocol drive ya mad? ;)

    I often insert smileys or winking smileys at the end of texts, regardless of who I'm texting, it means nothing just brightens up the text a little bit that's all. Especially in girls' case, it's just like dotting your i with a little heart or something.

    What I'm wondering is why you're even thinking about this if you're now in a relationship? So what if she does mean something by it? So what if she doesn't? Either way you have a girlfriend now so what do you care? :confused:
