Problems with Condensing Gas Boiler

    Hi
We recently have had a Dimplex System 30 Condensing Boiler fitted, along with a new central heating and underfloor heating system.

The boiler cut out late last week, apparently due to the water pressure being low and we topped it up and hit reset, but the boiler wouldn't fire.
We got a Dimplex service guy out yesterday who said it was the heat sensor which had tripped due possibly due to an airlock in the system, causing the boiler to overheat.

We have checked the pressure in the underfloor system, and there doesn't appear to be any leaks in the remainder of the heating system, rads, etc.
However, the boiler cut out again last night, even thou the water pressure hasn't gone down since.

We are now getting conflicting explanations of what it could be from the plumber and Dimplex fitter - airlock in water system - v - airlock within the boiler itself. There seems little point in getting the heat sensor reset again, until the underlying problem is fixed.

Has anyone got any experience of this, and what the problem might be?
What about these Dimplex boilers - do they have any underlying problems?
    Thanks

    Paschal

It would still be under warranty from Dimplex and if there was any known issues with the boiler they would know what they are and rectify them. Also there is to the best of my knowlage a manual vent on the top of the boiler for venting (open for correction on this) nearly all of the condensers have this.

Another thing would be a faulty high limit stat on the boiler it self, although because the boiler is so new it's unlightly (although stranger things have happened).

If there was an air lock in the system the boiler would cut out after a couple of mins because of no circulation causing the boiler to over heat, not a few hours later.

Call Dimplex and tell them the plumber has completely vented the system and the problem still persists. Ask them to investigate the over heat sensor.

Just read that title and thought you had a problem with a condescending gas boiler:rolleyes:

    Condescending boiler - No!
but plenty condescending plumbers and service engineers. All attempting to mask the fact that they haven't a clue what they are at, and God forbid they might talk to each other and try figure it out - would rather blame each other for a week first, before eventually getting to the bottom of the problem, whatever that might turn out to be.

The Dimplex engineer returned today, and has tried something different, but I remain to be convinced he has identified the problem.....
