Definitely looks like it's been inspired by Metal Slug, the character animations and everything look similar.

It looks interesting. Combat system is nothing like Metal Slug, more like a 2D Devil May Cry.

Kinda looks like the Samurai Jack series of animation, and i dont think it looks like metal slug either !

Any game that involves running to the right and shooting is going to be compared to Metal Slug.
