Apologies if the incorrect place to post.

Does anyone know of any company in Ireland where you can hire a winch for lifting a person?

Come on, you can't just say that without giving more detail!
    How big is she really??

Seriously though, I'm sure there are cow or sheep harnesses available from some farm supply places or something. That and a cherry picker.

Ah thanks for the giggle .....

Its for some special effects / stunt thingy but time constraints are restricting getting it in from the UK..

    Will try farm suppliers....

Winching a person and winching a sheep have very different health & safety considerations.

yes & cant get a safety cert if using an animal winch. Cant make a winch as the safety cert will cost more than purchasing one hence the need to hire a person one.

Why do you need a winch? Just get in touch with some local rock climbing or adventure clubs, they will have all the gear to do a quick and cheap belay type setup.

Just google "lifting equipment" or check the same section in the golden pages. There is a big industry for this in Ireland. -- Any company that has people going into tanks need this type of safety gear so there are a lot of suppliers out there.

    Carey Tool Hire
    Anderco

both of those are cork based but you'll get them all over Ireland
