The Race Around Ireland Team are holding a free Information Day on Saturday 20th March from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
It will take place in DCU (Dublin City University), Dublin 9.
Whether you are already registered, or contemplating entering the Race, crewing or marshalling, this day is for you.

There will be information about the race, the route, logistics of putting together a team and putting together a crew, also strategies for the race, and information on registration documentation. Previous entrants will also be there to answer any questions.

A similar event last year proved to be very successful and the competitors felt it was a great help.
Please email racearoundireland@gmail.com to confirm attendance.

This seems like a great thing to achieve. I read on the site, that the start times are at 8PM. Seems strange, given that they want to encourage safe cycling too. Some competitors might be inclined to cycle well into the dark of night.

We have quite extensive rules for the race. These cover not only the competitive aspects but safety. Night cycling is par for the course in Ultra Marathon racing. All cyclists on the road during hours of darkness must have a follow vehicle at all times.

The 2009 rules are available to download here http://www.racearoundireland.com/images/assets/rule-book-2009.pdf

The updated 2010 rules will be available soon.
