Car Hire (Licence held 1 year, 10 months)

    Hi there,

    Not sure where to post this.

    I am trying to hire a car for the weekend in Dublin, but all the companies seem to require that you've held your full licence for two years. Im two months off that cut off, anyone know of a company that let you off the two months??

    Also, Im 24, a lot of the companies seem to charge a surplus for this, so if there is a company that allow 22mth licence and 24yr old driver it would be great!

    Suggestions?

    I had the same problem, used Irish Car Rentals and it wasnt an issue, 2 years was only for Van and it was 1 year for a car. Only way you can be sure is to ring.

    Also they specify:
    * Min driver age 23 , max driver age 75. Clients holding an Italian or Spanish license minimum age is 30. Drivers age 23 & 24 are required to pay a surcharge locally.

    This wasnt an issue for me though :/

    Give them a call to be sure.
