    Hey all,

Ok here's my current (and soon to be old) website:

    www.nmurphydesign.com

I tire easily so went and produced this site over the weekend (attached).

    Thoughts/opinions?

    Cheers

PS - Another reason I created the new site was to base it solely on CSS (learned this over Christmas and now have a good working knowledge of it) - the old site is based on HTML tables (never again!).

PPS - The menu at the very end of the page in the footer is going to be edited to make it more appealing - the footer is only 90% complete as yet.

Haha, love the way ye have gone from 6 to 8+ and counting years presumably.

On a personal note I actually prefer the colours and graphics of the original website

    It's definitely better.

However, for a design company it lacks a lot of detail. The typography particularly is very staid and boring. I wouldn't expect to see such a generic stock photo either on a designers site.

Also, as a general note, I hate when individuals present themselves as companies by saying 'we'. I think you can present yourself as a company and an individual. There's a big difference between a freelancer, and a one-man company. I think the latter is the way to go, especially when the name of your company is something like yours.

Here's some other examples that I think are interesting

Not a bad design. Just two points really, make your green/lime text a lot darker, there is little or no contrast between that and your background so it's not going to be easy to read for anyone with any sort of colour blindness or visual impairment - there's a great colour contrast analyser at http://www.paciellogroup.com/resources/contrast-analyser.html

and use italics sparingly, dyslexics find them very difficult to read, they don't look too bad in your design because they're anti-aliased but they wont be on your finished page.
