Ryanair don't allow bookings through 3rd party sites, and they can (and have) canceled such tickets.

    Moved to Travel & Holidays

I'd suggest that you should book directly with Ryanair themselves. They don't like 'screenscrapers' or 3rd party bookings.

    Thank you

I just don't want to turn up at the airport and be denied boarding because my ticket isn't legitimate

eDreams are a legitimate site. They were in trouble for false advertising but they are a legit company. The prices you see, however, do not include their incredibly large 'card payment fees' which then work out to be more expensive than Ryanair. Book directly.

A lot of the time the fares quoted on sites like these aren't 'live' so can work out much higher in the end. Always book direct.

Was looking to book via edreams for flights to the US.
150 cheaper but with aer lingus.
What sort of hassle is likely? Very tempted!

I wouldn't touch them with somebody else's bargepole.

Did you follow the booking right through to the end? Edreams usually list a lower price, as its based on using some dodgy own-brand pre-paid mastercard. Once you select some other form of payment, the price jumps up.

Theyve caught me out with that a few times, wasting my time. I avoid them altogether now when looking at flights/hotels etc.

EDreams don't have live pricing. They basically make a *request* to the airline to purchase a ticket for you and guess what? They come back to you saying the fare advertised was no longer available and you have to fork out more money.

If at this point you wish to cancel your request, be prepared to jump through hoops to get a refund

I used them to book accommodation in France a few years ago. I arrived at the hostel to find that they weren't dealing with eDreams any more, and that my booking hadn't gone through. Fortunately the payment hadn't actually been taken. The hostel staff were helpful and helped me to find alternatives, but I had to keep switching hostels during my stay. I would never use eDreams again.

I have used them and found them ok.

They are part of a family of sites including Opodo.

They have a wiki page and listed on Spanish stock market so they aren't that small https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/EDreams_ODIGEO

Like most online travel agents, they don't have access to live pricing and availability, they all act as middlemen.
Huh? All reputable travel agents have live pricing and availability.

Edit: I just realised I replied to a zombie thread.

Reputable being the key word here.
