Davis Cup Tickets for Future Games

Saw the Davis Cup was last weekend. Only saw it was on on Friday and Tennis Ireland said tickets were sold out.

Not living in Dublin that long it never clicked with me that I could see live international tennis in the city.

So I know for next time, how do you go about getting tickets for it and does it usually sell out or did it sell out this time because of a resurgence in interest?

Anyone go this weekend as a matter of interest?
    Great result!

tickets sold out for this tie (as you stated due to increased awareness from the public especially after Sorenson and Nilands recent performances in the Australian Open.)
Whilst Ireland won convincingly this weekend, the same can't be said for Great Britain who lost to Lithunania.
This means now that Ireland won't meet Great Britain in the next Davis Cup tie later this summer (July I think?), but will instead play Lithuania.
Ireland vs/ GB would have created huge interest and could have been played in a bigger venue such as the RDS or the Point. It will more than likely go ahead now in Fitzwilliam which can hold 800. Tickets on sale from tennis Ireland. Not sure when or if there is a waiting list but you can check website.

Yes great win, but such a pity GB couldn't have won too. Would have got tennis here big media coverage for at least 1 weekend.

But as it stands, playing Lithuania gives us a better chance of getting through. If Murray had been playing for GB, simple fact is we would have lost.

As for tickets, keep an eye out here http://www.tennisireland.ie/home/davis_cup_2010

How do you figure that one out?

RJP123, it's pretty self-explanatory! Murray is at a different level to the Irish team... Bit of a disappointment GB didnt get through though.. would have awesome to see that clash!!

Murray (1 person) doesn't play the Irish team (4)

Davis Cup is a team event and is the best of 5 matches made up of 2 singles, doubles, 2 singles. There are 3 other guys on the GB team.

I think your and Stevecw assumption must be based on the extremely unlikely scenario of Murray playing singles Friday, doubles Saturday and singles again Sunday.

If he did that he would be f++ked tired for Sunday and could lose. There is also no reason why the doubles would not be winnable, even if he did play.

Anyway this is a hypothetical scenario which is not now going to happen so there is no sense debating it further.
