Need a recommendation for a good dentist

Hi All

I went to a dentist in Stillorgan last week for a routine check up. I am not nervous of dentists and I have always been told by dentists that I keep my teeth in excellent condition.

Anyway I went to this dentist, who was quite sloppy and some of the remarks were downright unprofessional. I left the appointment quite upset and will not go back.

I am going for a second opinion so I was wondering if anyone knew of a good dentist with a nice manner near Sanyford, Stillorgan or Rathfarnam

I was told had severe gum disease and that I was brushing my teeth too hard. I floss my teeth everyday and brush my teeth as always after very meal, so I want to get a second opinion. This dentist came across as a money grabber and listed a load of" work" which they deemed essential.

Out of interest, what is the correct way to floss your teeth as I was told I wasn't "vigorous" enough when flossing

Doireann08 sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Unfortunately sometimes you dont get on with a dentist and vice versa. Hell I am the greatest dentist in the world and some patient dont like my manner either ( yeah hard to believe I know). Best to try and find a dentist that suits your personality cause you can bet some patients think the dentist you didnt like is great.

can someone post me a good dentist same as above...stillorgan/cabinteely area. I gag on hackers.....in my line of work I hold massive responsibilty but when it comes to dentists I'm a quivering wreck from hackers in my youth to today in my 40's.....appreciate a pm.

I used to be petrified about going to the dentist, then my freind recommended this dentist in Callan Co. Kilkenny, who specialises in treating nervous patients. They were very good. They were able to know me out and I didn't remember a thing. I got it over and done in one go.
