I think Bret will come to Cena's aid (how  to be decided :D) tonight against Vince and Dave

I also expect HHH to call out Sheamus

It'll happen alright. Its just going to be some sort of gimmick match. What the gimmick will be is another matter. Creative are doing all the normal matches before mania to make it a quick fued. No doubt WWE will forget the fued ever happened once Mania is over.

I think the WWE have left Ted V Orton way too late as now Orton is way over no one cares about Ted

Oh Lord I recall the last time these two shows went head to head, the live threads were a nightmare. Nearly everyone was sound, but their was a small percentage trolling the other thread with spoilers, ignoring the fact that some in that thread may want to watch the other show at a later date spoiler free. :(

That's a good point. Maybe the spoiler in the title should be altered to specify spoilers for the show the topic is about only?

shouldent have to people should just not troll... but i did as they do. that night also had the added fact of being Bret's first night back too and id imagine a lot less fans will be attracted to the threads this time although it should obviously be busier than normal by a good bit, ill try and be online during it but it is at the time i have to get ready for work.

The Undertaker will be live on RAW tonight on USA Network to start the broadcast at 9PM EST. What will The Deadman have to say to HBK?

WWE clearly countering "TNA's big 5 mins" with Taker.

Tonight should really be a great night for us wrestling fans, be it watching Raw or Impact!

    Good start to Raw.

Yes it was. I'm amazed it went on for so long. I expect Bret to interfere in the Vince Cena match and of course Batista. Could be a good show.

    Good start to Raw.

Thought it was a bit meh really,

Seems to be a bit same old same old on Raw so far. Promo was a bit run of the mill.

John Morrison is still a ridiculous gimmick in my opinion.

    What happen with Taker?

I am so so so happy that it isn't MVP mentoring Skip Sheffield. Him and Regal were so great there. Love it.

Not sure, it's sang by Audioslave in any case.

It's definitely been used before for someone. Surprised they are rehashing an old song.

    What was poor about it?

I thought it was very good.

I enjoyed the opening with HBK and Taker.

Legacy match was pretty good, its amazing how the fans ended up getting behind Randy so easily.
Jo Mo and Truth taking out Showmiz was done very well, it looked like it was going to be the normal face team get the upper hand before the break but they continued the beat down instead of going for the break, thats a nice change of pace.
Bourne qualified for MITB, have to be happy with that.
The Sheamus HHH face off set their match up pretty good.

I thought the main event was another part of the show used well to build up two mania matches.

Batista is a brillaint heel, the look on his face when Kofi appeared was priceless.

    Live report from Raw
As for the start of the show, the opening segment with Undertaker and Shawn went off really well, the crowd was really mixed between cheering and jeering both of them. One second they would cheer for Taker, the next minute they would jeer him. It went back and forth during the entire opening segment.

The women's match was pretty dead, it's unfortunate as they worked really hard.

The Tag match with Show/Miz and Morrison/RTruth was disappointing as it didnt last long, but Truth and Morrison are majorly over. R Truth is really over with the fans, pairing him up with Morrison is really good move.

Handicap match was up next and ended up being a really good bout. The crowd seemed to be still getting used to Orton as his reaction was very mixed. I know the second that I was in was cheering for him hardcore. Legacy however, looked really good in the ring together, and I can only guess how much them pulling off a win over Orton will help their reputation.

Money in the bank match was next, and I must say, they're under utilizing Evan Bourne. The fans were REALLY over for him, a lot of people were happy to see him advance into the Money In The Bank match. When jumped off the top rope about a dozen people behind me yelled "Fly Bourne, Fly!" It was fantastic!

Now for the main event. Crowd went ABSOLUTELY CRAZY for John Cena. It doesn't matter what you hear on television crowd wise, I practically went deaf from all the cheers in my area. A lot of people were a bit disappointed in the match when McMahon made it a gauntlet match.

There were a few pops when John got some offense in, but it pretty much killed the crowd. Huge pop when Kofi came in and took the offensive to Batista towards the end, only to get squashed just as quickly. The pin on John grabbed the most heat out of anything during the night, a lot of people were NOT happy.

After the show went off the air, Sheamus charged the ring and began to assault Cena, but only long enough for Triple H to charge the ring and clear it of both Batista and Sheamus. But wait! That wasn't all. Hunter grabbed a mic and asked John if he had enough left for a match and John welcomed it.

The match started quickly and the crowd was on its feet the entire time. The match was evenly fought with Cena taking a lot of the punishment. He then got the hot tag to Hunter and Hunter cleaned house. A little more mayhem ensued, Batista got the FU from Cena, Hunter hit the Pedigree on Sheamus and sent the fans home happy.

Absolutely terrific show! Was a lot of fun to attend and I can't wait for the next show that comes our way, I'll definitely try and make it 3 for 3 when it comes to attending shows here in Portland.

Loved the Shawn-Taker promo, making the match no dq is interesting. I really cant wait for Wrestlemania now! Hopefully the Bret-Vince contract signing next week will turn that angle around a bit!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭waltersobchak

Yeah Bret, Vince and Austin in the ring at the same time should be unreal.. Love if they have him as special referee at Mania too.

Thought it was a average RAW really. The whole Legacy split up has been handled very poorly and its just starting to get messy now. Is Orton supposed to be face now or is he just getting cheered because Ted/Cody are a bit rubbish in the fans eyes? The fans just dont seem to be behind them at all.

Random appearance by Kofi in the main event was pretty random, maybe its to set-up Kofi winning MiTB and getting himself involved in the main event scene. Nice to see Mark Henry display some character.

Evan Bourne is only in MiTB for the high spots, cant see any reason why he would win it.

Triple H/Sheamus wasnt anything differant from a set-up for any other PPV.

    just to re-iterate...

i cannot wait for HBK v Taker II.

    brilliant promos.

Undertaker, in particular, i thought sold the segment perfectly - his eyes, his intensity, everything.

    2 absolute legends those two.

if they can still get a 27 year old man to believe in them, f*ck, they're something very very special.

Unlikely since Bourne was the last to qualify. Maybe there'll be McIntyre vs Kingston and WM or something.

Solid if unspectacular edition of Raw I thought. They have a serious problem with the Legacy angle right now, they won’t do another handicap match at Mania but there is no obvious singles match either. I suppose they could try and drum up some interest by having their fathers in the corners? It’s a tricky one for creative though. Other random thoughts...
Evan been in MITB is awesome but I wouldn’t be surprised if he lost his spot to Drew after some angle with Vince. If Drew doesn’t get in MITB I assume they will throw a match together with him and Kofi. Kofi may be partial to botches but he is over and deserves a spot at Mania.

The Opening segment between Hunter and Taker was epic although I still reckon it should not close the show, that’s for Cena and Batista even if I admit the match with John and Vince was just a mess. We all knew the Batista beat down was coming, they could have down it much earlier instead of dragging it out by sending down 234 midcarders to batter Cena.

Oh and Eve is getting hotter by the week. :o

Where are they going with the Legacy vs Orton story now??? They are running so late, WM is behind the corner and none of them have a match scheduled yet....I see one too many wrestlers in this feud, in a 2 vs 1 Orton is supposed to lose, whereas in a 1 vs 1 there is no chance of Orton losing, looking at the way he looks so strong these days. However if they want to push Legacy then somehow they will have to beat Orton, but I would exclude wwe is going to have another handicap match....wwe really blew it here, Ted should have turned face 3 months ago, I am a great fan of Orton and I really hate to see people cheering him! Unless there is something spectacular coming up I would be really disappointed. Orton has to stay heel!
