College grant

    Hi

Returned to university there in sept 08

My mum gives me money weekly but don't know if she'll have a job next year. I'll be in work placement but its looking increasingly likely it will be an unpaid placement.

I've never been elligible for a grant because both my parents work and earn above the threshold. Problem is they bought a house a few years back and hence have a lot of outgoings. This however isn't taken into account for my college grant, its just earnings.

I'll be turning 25 in may. Will I still be assessed based on parents income or can I apply without being a dependent? I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm studying in the UK. Live at home during the summer.

    Thanks for any info
