Light Hearted Query

So I went to my local niteclub a few weeks ago for the first time in a while. I think it was actually after a boards beers as well actually, but that's besides the point. Anyway I was standing at the bar waiting to get served and one of the bar staff came over to serve me and it just so happened to be a girl. It was weird in that there seemed to be a little "moment" or something between us and she took my order, I paid for it, and when she gave me my change she winked at me and moved on to serve someone else. Later in the night, she served me again, same thing happened.

Cut to last week, and I go to the same niteclub again and she's there and I'm waiting to get served and she's pouring a drink for someone else and see's me and kind of sort of acknowledges me to say hello etc, but not in such a way to say she's going to take my order or anything.

Then last night I was in the same club and I was getting served and she was sort of walking past in the bar and stopped and was like "heyy..." and I sort of shyly smiled and acknowledged I was getting served and she nodded and winked and went to someone else.

Am I mad or is possible (probable) that she might be interested, or is she just being friendly/doing her job? When she winks at me, it doesn't come across as like a sexual thing, almost like it's something she'd do instead of a nod or something. But then at the same time, winking is kind of suggestive and I can't imagine myself ever doing it unless I was trying to put across to a girl that I was interested.

I don't really expect anything to come of this anyway to be honest. The club is busy so it would be almost impossible to get talking to her for any length of time, plus lets be honest, female bar staff probably have loads of guys oogling them every night so I may just come across as just another drunk guy.

I was just wondering if she's possibly interested or if she's just being friendly/doing her job.

Anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

Ok, as someone who has been the bargirl (in a former life lol) I can't tell you if she likes you or is just doing her job. However I can give you some ways of finding out.

Now, the worst thing you can try to do is talk to her when she's busy. Which is pretty much all the time in a club. You've a few coices. Go early, before the crowds get there. Or go on a night that is quiet. Or else happen to be standing near her bar when closing time kicks in. Not sure about other clubs but I know that when the bar closed we used to leave it for a 10-15 min break. We'd always hang around nearby to ake sure the bar was safe, but we'd get out from behind the bar to prevent the hoards of people from queuing for a drink we weren't going to serve them

Don't get overly drunk, always queue on her side of the bar but don't hang around the bar all night or you'll look pathetic. Strike up some flirting by asking her to recommend a drink/beer (but don't do this when she's rushed off her feet).

But I gotta be honest and say that I have never kissed or dated a guy I met while I was at work behind a bar. You tend to hook up with other bar staff as they are on the same time as you are. Where we go out for drinks at 3am to 8am and sleep until 6pm. Where our big nights out are monday and tuesday nights etc.
It's very difficult to make a relationship work with someone who is on "normal" time.

*edited to add....if you do manage to get talking to her don't go on too much about the club/her job. One perk of being a barmaid is that you get chatted up a fair bit. But you always know deep down that it's not about you, it's about the job. Men who wouldn't have looked at me outside of the bar went starry eyed when I was serving them beer. It's very shallow. And any attempt a drunk guy made to chat me up usually involved "oh my god, I love this place, your job is so cool yawn yawn yawn".
I'd imagine it's how firemen feel lol. :D

    Interesting.

I was trying to see if she was like that with other people but I became conscious of looking like some sort of weird stalker or something so I kind of looked away. To be honest the fact that she works behind a bar has no bearing on whether I like her. If I met her in any other scenario and she was doing the same thing, I'd be wondering if she was into me. I reckon if it were just a normal scenario, like in I'd bumped into her in a shop or something, I'd be a bit more certain. But because it's a bar/customer service type enviroment, I automatically have this skeptical voice in my head that's saying "they're just doing their job".

This particular club is only open on Fri and Sat nights and recently I've been going there solo and as a result, haven't arrived till nearly 1am. I've been in there just after it opens and while it's quiet and I could chat briefly then, I'd look like a saddo just finishing up the chat and going and standing by myself. I might be going there soon for my birthday with a few friends so perhaps it might be more condusive to arriving early. But if I'm going by myself, I tend to arrive later.
