Is Blueface worth it if you also have normal landline?

    Hi there, I am just starting to look into moving to VoIP, however i also have a normal landline which i cant get rid of since its my only way of having broadband.

    I was looking at the offer Blueface have on right now of buying a VoIP phone for 200 quid and having free calls with that. But first i wanted to sound out other Blueface users to see how they are getting on.

    Firstly, does anyone else have Blueface VoIP plus a normal landline, and is this doubling up of bills, or money saving?
    Secondly, from reading the Blueface website, there is a list of countries they facilitate calls to - what about the countries they dont? does anyone find this restricting, or are they obscure countries most people in Ireland would never call anyway? (or am i even interpreting this correctly?)

    I would suggest you to go for the pay as you go offer on Blueface, where there is no monthly fees. That way, you can get the rates with Blueface, without any minimum monthly spending.

    Re list of countries BF facilitates calling to, I think this is what they refer to as the countries where you get 200 free call minutes every month? There are no restrictions on countries you can call via BF, AFAIK they can terminate calls to all countries worldwide.

    I am also stuck with a landline and have a 'package' that covers my local calls. It works out ever so slightly cheaper than using Blueface for the number of calls I make in a billing period.

    All calls to other countries I use Blueface ...... a PAYG account.

    It was a great way to test the system to see if it suited ....... only €5 to start using it. I don't need a geographic number from BF as I have my land line, and the calls to the likes of Aus are so much cheaper it has been well worth getting the hardware to accommodate the VOIP.

    I have the VoIP for 200 euro home telephone. The service is great no landline rental. But you just need to make sure you have a good broadband connection.

    Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Just wanted to confirm - defib when you say "make sure you have a good broadband connection" i take it standard 3MB BB over normal copper phone line with average contention would be OK?
