I met this girl during the week and ended up going back to hers. One thing led to another and we ended up having sex. The only thing I was so drunk I didn't wear a condom.

I'm really scared now over this and want to get checked. I know it was a really stupid thing to do so no need to tell me that as I know.

Is there a certain amount of time you're meant to wait before getting checked? Is there any free clinics in Dublin?

All that's going around in my head is how stupid I was and just want to (hopefully) get the all clear.

    Thanks

  • There's a free clinic at James' Hospital but you have to go really early and wait for hours. Otherwise, Dr Freedman in Ranelagh has a very good reputation, and honestly, unless you're destitute, it would be worth spending the 180 quid to not drive yourself demented with worry. You should wait 2-3 weeks to get checked for bacterial infections, and 3-6 months for HIV and Hep B. If I were you I'd at least get the bacterial ones checked in the next few weeks, then go back for the others at a later stage.
