My Dell XPS M1710 battery is finally giving up the ghost after about 2 and a half years, I have checked the Dell website and the battery will cost 140+ euro from them, seems very high? Also (this may be a silly question) it doesnt look the same size as my current battery?

Any help or suggestions would be great because to be honest I haven't a clue!!

AFAIK, you can buy replacement batteries from Ebay for much less than Dell's prices. I've been looking into this myself as my XPS1330 battery is slowly giving up the ghost.
I'll be interested in any input from anyone who's bought off Ebay...

Be very carefull with batteries off ebay. A friend got one for a dell d630 and it worked but the battery time was actually less than his 4yr heavily used dell battery. They are very cheap for a reason! I havent opened one but read somewhere they simply dont put as many cells into them as they advertise.
