I tried to replace my existing sky box with the new HD box offer
straight swap (not multi room) with the hd package, all going well except
i have no way of connecting to a phone line. Told there was no way
around this and that I should let the guys install it anyway and I could
try in the future to get the phone connection. The sky girl was very helpfull
but is there a way around the phone line? I thought I read a tread saying a one off payment was an option but I cant find it.

    Thanks

i think there is a one off fee of 37.50 that you pay sky if you dont have a phoneline, only condition is you wont be able to have multiroom this way

Yes Sky still enforce this for those who do not have a landline, although there is a few independent retailers that do not charge for the manual enablement.

Yes you can still get the HD box free when you upgrade to HD

Yeah it is. They have extended the offer to end of March.

Thanks for the response. I got an email from Sky saying that the the one of feeonly applies to STB and not the HD service. I might try the guys on the stands and see what they say.

    Thanks again

Any single Sky box can be installed without a landline for a once off fee. And at the moment alot of the Kiosks have dropped the "non land line fee". Sky Direct sometimes do not have the same offers Agents or Kiosks have.
