I have had a search on boards and know there have been posts on here before about this subject but I could not find anything regarding neutralizers. These contraptions are supposed to make the hole joining up thing safe and reliable, has anyone here ever had one?

Or is there another way of doing it safely.

I am thinking of buying one from this company

There are many methods, use of a dual coil cylinder would be the most common way of doing it.

Here is the basic layout of a stove installation.

    Thanks for the reply.

Problem at the moment is when a I have the fire lighting and the back boiler gets hot pipes start knocking. The stat is turning on the pump but I think the back boiler pump is in the wrong place. Guy fitted the oil heating seems to have made a balls of it ( he is long gone  ) oil heating on it's own works fine though so I guess he didn't care.

At the moment there is only a single coil cylinder, this is being changed for a dual coil, one for oil one for back boiler. Both will then link to central heating system. Not sure if can be done correctly without one of these neutralizer things.

Also does anyone know if the two pumps should pump the same way ?

pump should be on the flow pumping away from boiler or on the return pumping back into the boiler
there are good cases for for both set-ups
Back boilers and dual systems should not be a attempted by over enthusiastic diy-ers
please get a plumber who has plenty of experience in doing these
