Freelancing?

I am currently on JSA but have been offered a few days work freelancing here and there. I have no idea how many days I will get freelancing so I cant totally sign off; I have to invoice the company each week making me self-employed. I really can’t afford to give up my dole as I am totally broke but I don’t want to turn down work. Is there any way I can freelance and get paid for the days I don’t work??? Or is the state penalizing me for being productive?

    Hi ET_phone_home

It shouldn't be necessary to totally sign off Jobseeker's Allowance. You should talk to your Social Welfare Local Office and explain you will have a few days work each week. You may still qualify for a certain amount of Jobseeker's Allowance during the weeks you're working but I can’t say for certain. It will depend on how many days you work each week and how much you earn. The SWLO will reassess your eligibility and your means to include the income from work.
