I want to see what everyone else thinks bout heavyweights in Irish mma, I personally think that there is nothing better than going to an event and watch two heavyweights laying into each other but there does not seem to be many heavyweight fights so I want to know are there not many heavyweights about (according to the fight ie rankings apparently not) or is it promoters not putting on any fights at events?

What about Karl Roche? Was he not supposed to fight Dan Severn and he is a BJJ European champ.

I know there is a few about mate but why I'm asking is why we don't see more regular heavyweight fights at events, would it just be the same fella fighting each other over and over again?

this is karl, i think promoters would put them on if they were there, not many around, but seen a good hw semi pro fight a cagewars, and about the european champ bit, i got a bye in the first round and lost my first fight but got a bronze for having the nicest beard

A lot of people either love them or hate them!!! Sometimes they can be slow fights and fans kinda get bored after the 2nd round if theres no skill and especially amatuer.

However we have the likes of Big C and Karl who over the years have been entertaining to watch. I remember one time at amatuer level Sean Crowe from PCCB fought a guy Leitch from AMMA and it was one hell of a fight had us all at the end of our seats.

I havent seen much of HW lately which is a shame at times:(

Not too fussed on HW's to be honest, find most of the fights pretty boring as they gas too quick, apart from the top guys (cain etc)

Best Irish HW i've ever seen was Big Col Robinson, seen him fight Sanchez at UFC 72, if that first round had have gone on for 1 more minute he'd have won, came out gassed in the second and was quickly finished.

he cant exactly fight himself tho.

I dont mean literally no HW's, just not enough for competition
