Not too flush with cash and am feeling and looking a little too washed out at the moment (its been a long long winter). Have freckley skin (never tan) and auburn hair. I never normally use make up. anyone any recommendations? preferably something cheapish...

Tesco brand one (Skin Wisdom) is meant to be good! And it's cheap!:)

Nivea do a tinted moisturiser which is very reasonably priced, and it seems to give a decent enough colour to your face without being obvious (IMO anyway).

I tried the Olay tinted moisturiser out a while back, and I found it to be very orange and obvious and very gloopy, so would steer clear of that (others who tried it have said the same thing).

Number 7 have one. It's lovely colour, just enough coverage. Also got spf15 in it, which is handy when you're pale like me :) I think it's about €14.

I've tried the Nivea Visage and No 7 one and would definitely recommend the latter! It's a few euro extra, but definitely worth it in terms of coverage/colour which it gives!

Vichy do one called Luminouse, its about 16 euro and its available in chemists. Its very subtle but gives nice coverage and glow and it has an spf.

    Thanks guys.
I went into BTs today as I needed to get Elizabeth Arden SPF 12 Daily moisturising cream and they had none! Girl said it is so popular its flying off the shelf. I started using it bout 2 months ago...best buy Ive ever made-worth the money. She gave me a tester pot of the cream as she said it would be another week before they get it in.
Anywhoo, in BTs I went to the Benefit counter and girl tried their tinted moisturiser on me (e32 mind) and it feels so so tight on my skin. Not very nice. Went to tesco and couldnt find the skin wisdom one. Will be next week now before I can go shopping again.

The No7 one is good and if you have one of those Boots No7 vouchers that you always get when you buy something in Boots you'll get 7.50 off so should only cost you around €7.
