Yeah it's nice like, it's your typical coast dress really....

They're sometimes just a bit "safe" imo

I'd agree with this, it is a lovely dress and I'd imagine it could be very flattering if it suited you but not overly special. Perfectly nice for a wedding though:)

It's a nice dress, but I would personally never wear a Coast dress to a wedding. It is the first port of call for a lot of wedding guests and there is quite a high chance of someone else wearing the same dress. I have been to a couple of weddings where 2 people have worn the same Coast dress! I would also agree that they are a bit safe, they seem to make the same dresses year after year and just change the colour or pattern. I think you could do better for that kind of money!

    Wedding not until August..
Men have it so easy don't they

If you have bought it then wear it, it is lovely and you could add some funky accessories. I would bring in colour by wearing maybe a red belt, shoes bag etc. Or if you wear feeling brave you could go for something like yellow to make it a bit more summery. The great thing about black is that you can get more wear out of it during the winter, better than buying a very pastel colour which is limited to summer. You should get loads of wear out of the dress.

I think it's a lovely dress. And if you've bought it now, then the chances of seeing it at the wedding are fairly remote.

But I'd keep the shoes and accessories discrete, there's a lot of detail on the race.

Sorry, previous poster but the thought of a red belt sounds fairly vile. Way too much going on and it wouldn't suit with the girlie ribbony-ness of the dress at all.

looks great for a wedding. Ask in coast about ideas for adding some color to it if you're unsure. I'd start with really stand out shoes and bag..then go from there.

I think it looks great. Although I think it would look better with a different colour instead of the white but there's not much you can do about that.

i think the dress is stunning. Deffo try to wear possibly red accessories. like a red hair thing or flower in your hair and red bag etc

got this dress myself for a wedding and i love it http://www.aflondon.com/p-1431-sequin-waist-dress.aspx

I really didn't want to wear black but it is so so fab on!!
Perfect fit & so elegant with high heels!!
    What do you guys think..

I think it's a fab dress. Would buy it myself except I'm not built for strapless dresses!! I don't consider myself overly conservative but I would err on the side of caution, esp for a wedding.

Its lovely, could you check though with the bridesmaids as to what they're wearing in case its similar. I had my bridesmaids in a black dress the same length as that.

wow thanks so much for all the responses.
I think I will keep it. Its just such a lovely fit.
Fingers crossed no-one else will have it but sure we'll see!
    Any suggestions for heels?? Hairstyles??
    Red lippie anyway ;)

What shoes would you wear with it??
I'm thinking a very high satin black peep toe heel..
And a cream chiffon light weight wrap thing..
Can anyone think of something a bit more original yet elegant?;)

I would not wear a wrap - the dress is too unstructured with the floatiness of the hem. A nice black coat would be better.

A pair of black leather court shoes would also be better then a satin pair of shoes.

I think black shoes would be a bit too much for august though? Maybe a strappy sandal or mule would be more summery. And I'd go for a short bolero style jacket rather than a wrap, unless its an evening wedding.

Yes this would probably be better then my suggestion.

I agree with giselle, too much black otherwise. Strappy sandals or a shocking colour shoe. Something to really brighten up the outfit due to time of year.
