This is pretty awesome value. Are you ok with a tiny screen though?

You'd have to live with a very small screen, which may or may not be an issue for you. I use my netbook for college work and i find it fine, but i've always got a desktop to come back to when im home.
You should be able to pick up a laptop for 450ish that's more that sufficient for what you need.

Im a bit unsure about the netbooks tbh, its not the small screen that would bother me its the small keyboard. My Friend has a dell netbook and ive used it a few times but i end up just getting annoyed with it!! Im a science student so would have a lot of reports to write,.......

Don't worry about the keyboards, they're around 94% of the size of a normal keyboard,
and the Samsung NC netbook keyboards are suprisingly comfortable!

The thing that would get me would be the speed. I mean, netbooks are really handy, but
they do tend to chug with the more difficult tasks. So if you're using it as your day to day machine, its bound to get frustrating. However, if you're looking to save money, jump on to adverts.ie . You'll often get a great laptop for sub €400 second hand.

Your budget will set your choices. Personally if it came down to spending 400 on a s/h versus 450/500 on a new model, I know that I would spend the extra for peace of mind. FYI, I bought a Dell from PC World for 495 - Win 7 premium, Intel Pentium processor, 15.4 inch screen with good resolution, 3 GB Ram and 12 month manufacturer warranty. Good deals on extras when new pc bought - MS Office Student extra 80 euro or you can bundle Office Student + Norton 360 extra 110 approx. Maybe something there for you to think about.
