Have a quick question on roof slates to thosse in the know. I have a satellite on my chimney and everytime someone gets up they break a slate. Now my slates are produced by condron tiles in offaly and are available in north dublin chadwicks.... Sometimes.

What i want to know is... Are slates produced to a standard. For example will roadstone produce a virtually identical copy of a condron slate.

The reason I ask is I want to get a couple of spares and dont fancy driving to offaly

I cant answer your question directly as Im not familiar with the people involved but depending on the length of time the slates have been on you just need to make sure you get a good match as "weathering" can be a major factor.

If you are that worried about matching would you not just drive down. It's not a very long journey.

I am not worried about matching as such I just wondered if you have to go to orig manufacturers or are they standard made. If you catch my drift.

As for driving down. I would need to bring the kids as I might not be back in time for them getting in and this is what I am trying to avoid.
