Iphone Stanza App - how to reject update?

I have the Iphone Stanza App. Recently i was sent an update for it.

I do not want to download the update as all it does is DECREASE the functionality. The description of the update states: "removes the ability to share books via USB as required by Apple"

Now, at the moment i do not want to share books any by USB but I might want to in the future, and i am damned if i am going to decrease the functionality of the Stanza app to appease some power-mad Apple bean counter.

It has been sitting in my phone for a few weeks now, and i have not downloaded it. However, it is a pain not to be able to use the "Update All" apps function, so i have been trying to find a way to delete this update altogether, but I do not see one.

Does anyone know how one can delete an update from your phone without deleting the app as well?

    Thanks for any advice.

Fairly sure you can't. A good idea might be to back up the current .ipa for the app outside of iTunes, if you do update by mistake you can just delete and sync back the older version!

In fairness the only functionality you loose is that you can't copy books to the phone via USB but you can still copy them over your network no problem...
