Are g&p midcaps any good? feed well? jam often? any alternative metal midcap?

Not realy, i have 4 of them. I have fired buckets of lube into them and they still jam. Also the grub screw that keeps the metal body and the inner body in place, comes loose and then your mag is in two bits.

I only use MAG mids and they are far better, plus cheaper.

Id go for the MAG brand metal 190rd midcaps myself. I have a few of the G&Ps and while I though they were good at the start they are not holding up too well over time, few niggling problems poping up here and there and I don't even skirmish with them.

Lots of people complain about G&P metal mids. I've a pair of them for 2 years and never had a problem with them other than crap cheapo bbs jamming, they've worked fine for me with Excel and G&G (both normal and bio).

how would the Magpul 120rds and MAG 190 round metal mags compare against each other?

Spicy - I've used a variety of mid caps and high caps in the last six months and I've had more problems with highs than mids.
The 120 magpul pmags are solid - never had a problem with them other than that they don't fit in King Arms aegs without trimming.
I also use the Mag plastic mid caps (the HK trade ones) and these feed perfectly and never jam. I was initially against plastic mid caps, but I've come around. No 'join' on the back or front of the mag means that they generally fit the mag well of all aegs without bother - mainly KA that causes problems.
