Help picking a high end Dell Desktop

A friend of mine works for a very large organisation and uses massive excel macros worksheets everyday. His current desktop is too slow (no details of spec given). He has been told to get a new desktop and to the tell them what spec she wants. Price isn't a major issue but he would still like to keep it somewhere between €1500-€1800. So his main requirements are, a large screen, and heaps of processing power.

Software isn't an issue as they have a large It section who will deal with that side of it & actually order it too.

They always but from Dell so can anyone recommend a high end Dell that will take like lots of RAM also (10GB+). Any help appreciated.

Low power consumption or any other tree hunging stuff is not an issue.

Sounds like you're after a Dell Precision Workstation
If money is not the issue then you'll never look back after getting one of these!

Great thanks. The Precision T5500 with Ram upgraded to 24GB and 24" monitor will probable come to €2700 +VAT. That should be a fine machine.

Is there a need to upgrde the 7,500 rpm hard drive to the 10,000 rpm one? Anyone ever compare them?
