Here's one that may be of some interest to folks into ambient electronic music.

I'm posting it for a number of reasons including the fact that I'll be performing there to coincide with the release of my 6th and latest album. The music I'll be performing will be based around field recordings made while travelling in South East Queensland, Australia. I can't speak for the other good folks performing but my stuff would be along the lines of Biosphere/Entia Non/early Tangerine Dream.

I record/perform under the name miXile and would be thrilled to put a face/name on some of the good folks around here.
A digital release date for the new album which has the title 'Noosa Sunrise' is the 15 March, 2010. A physical release will come a week or two later but I may have CDs with me on the night if anyone wants a cheap 'pre-release' copy. Anyone doing radio/dj stuff and playing Ambient is welcome to a promo copy if they let me know.

Info about my bits and bobs:

It will be a nice change of party style and a good pre club gig also..

Nice one, anyone citing early tangeine dream is a winner!
Did you see them in the stadium for the Tangram tour?

alas I did not. Did you? That would have been something for sure. I've never seen them live and just can't stomach anything they've done over the last 20 years. Tangram would have been the last of the good TD albums I'd reckon. Phaedra, Ricochet, Rubycon and Encore are my faves. How about yourself?

Thanks for the comment too :)

I did indeed at the tender age of 14, quite some gig! I agree Tangram was the last good album, and I have always preferred the early '70's stuff, The ones you mentioned are in my fave lists
best of luck with the launch, unfortunately can't make it as I'm in London at a (would you believe) stranglers gig

    hola folks,
not bumping for bumping's sake (as they say in France),
but thanks to any who are planning on dropping along tomorrow night. Not sure what time I'm playing but it's somewhere between 18:00 and 23:00.

It will be almost all beatless ambient with a few timed crackles thrown in from locusts and stuff.

Anyway looking forward to meeting a few folks along the way.

    Mick
    (miXile)

    {old gregg is just a tv character :p}

Hope it went well last night Mick, sorry again that I couldn't make it but the reasons were clear... :(

    thanks man and no worries.

Yea, it went really well. I did an hour of improvised ambient stuff (laptop running Ableton, keyboard and trigger finger) based on travels and field recordings made in South East Queensland, Australia. I even *shock horror* had some 120bpm beats banging to work alongside the locust recordings for the last 10 mins. O yea verily, I say unto you, tropical bird recordings running through the TAL-Dub vst do sound cool alongside some tasty drones and a touch of snap, crackle and bop.

Next stop is the album launch event in Waterford on the 09th April. All welcome.

    Mick
(who did not wear a cape but reminded himself of Rick Wakeman at times :p)
