As the title says,,,both are brand new in their box,,,,one mag through the P99 to test it,,both are unwanted birthday gifts.

P99 - Mostly very nice quality ABS plastic with some metal parts,,,,has no trades and comes with a can of the green stuff,,,,70 euro collected,,price is firm.

The .50AE has a full metal slide,,,full trades and requires a CO2 capsule to function,,,has never been fired as i don't have any capsules,,however they are renowned for kicking like a mule,,also has a full auto feature,,,100euro collected,,price is firm as its brand new.

I suggest that interested parties bring a capsule with the them to test

I have no camera so can not post pics,,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 941 ✭✭✭hairyman

0.9J,,,,,states it on the box and was bought from Strike Arms out in Swords,,Hobby Airsoft also sell them with the 0.9J rating,,,,,,i believe that they are running 390+FPS:eek: before downgrading.

Cybergun box labelling has them running upwards of 360fps, up to 394fps depending on model.

I'm sorry hairyman, but I'm going to have to hand you a ban. It is your responsibility to ensure that the airsoft gun that you are trading is within the legal limits. If you (or somebody who does know) can explain what downgrade work has been carried out I will review the ban post-haste

I don't mean to butt in, but I have previously owned one of these desert eagle from Cybergun, and even though the box it came in said is was firing at WELL over the legal limit, it actually was not. It was firing consistently at 290 - 300 FPS

The same thing happened with my Taurus PT 24/7. The box said one speed, while the chrono said another.

Which model? There are several CO2 variants.

Look at this from a moderation perspective; I have a CO2 powered gun (in particular, a pistol), which immediately sets alarm bells off. I have manufacturers box figures that are well in excess of the Irish legal limit, and I have a user claiming it's under the legal limit. I have a duty of care to make sure the latter is true.

I understand that as a Mod you have to uphold the rules of selling, especially when it comes to the Energy rating of the AEG's and pistols.

All I am saying is that I had this exact model, the cybergun DE 50AE, full and semi auto CO2 Blowback pistol, and it shot within the legal limit. I do not have a chrono to prove it, but I know it was within the legal limit as I purchased it from Hobby Airsoft.

    It was this one...

I am not debating the power of said pistol or contradicting the mod but I have seen several boxes belonging to AEG's and pistols advertising 360 and upwards fps in big bold print but when you read the small print it says "with .12 bb's"

not gunna argue but never seen a box stating .12 its always .20 even when ya chrono a gun its meant to be don with .20

anyway hairy when ya get off your ban where ya based intrested in the p99

Lemming, the box says 300FPS with 0.2g BB and 394FPS with 0.12g BB.
I have chono'd it and it fires between 300 and 310 FPS. You may lift the ban from hairyman, he is a genuine guy and would not sell anything over 1 Joule.
I can PM you a photo of the box and chrono reading, if necessary.

    Not necessary Head Hunter.

Ban shall be rescinded momentarily. Very annoying and confusing for a retailer to be citing .12g when the defacto standard is .2g, so thank you for clarifying the rating.

    Just to clarify,,,

Lemming has a job to do and i fully respect and appreciate that,,,,,he made the right call.

Thanks for all the info provided by all the lads.

And lastly,,,P99 collected today by Merry Despot,,a pleasure dealing with you Kevin,,as always.

Thinking of changing my user id to the Hurricane,,:D

Its actually quite common for manufacturers to quote FPS for .12g and .2g BB's.I would say 90% of our products indicate this on the box.
This pistol is most definately under 1 joule.
I also would say, never go by readings listed on the box. With a number of our pistols and rifles the FPS listed is regularly incorrect.
The fact its been purchased from an Irish retailer should be enough to indicate to the customer that its under 1 joule.

was in funk it in waterford today. majority of their pistols are 380fps but it does state on the box that the bbs are .12
