Well, had my foregolf session yesterday. Very enjoyable and encouraging. Headed off from Clare stopping in Dromoland for 40 minutes on the range. Had ten minutes before the session and then the session itself so I was knackered by the time I got home. Found it very informative. Had all my stats with me so was able to pinpoint exactly where the difficulties were in the game (e.g when missing fairways, missed left 70% of the time; missed greens short etc).

Result was that he felt my irons were in fact pretty close to just what I needed and felt I was hitting them well although he said if you wanted to tweak he would go with a stiff but lighter shaft (Nippon 1050) but said it was up to me and that the difference would be perhaps small. Almost disappointed that he didn't recommend a complete overhaul on the irons (I WANTED to buy something new!!!).

Most of the changes were shaft changes. He recommended new shafts in all my current woods. An Aldila VS Proto 95 into my hybrid, A fujikura speeder 757 stiff into the 3 and 5 woods and a UST Proforce V2 77 stiff (low torque) into the driver. All felt great and noticeably more stable for me. He said there was no need to change any heads of any of my clubs. I did ask them to re-grip everything as well which they'll do for €10 a club. Dropping them in tomorrow. Still deciding over whether to leave the project X shafts on the irons or go with the lighter nippon which I feel did make me sense the weight of the head more and gave slightly more speed through the ball (the impact dispersion on the face with the nippons was noticeably more focused but may have been because I was warmed up).

Anyone have any experience with slightly lighter shafts intheir irons or the Nippons in particular? or indeed any of the shafts recommended?
