I made a stupid mistake building my bike: i cut the housing with the cable still inside!

Is there anywhere in Dublin that sells individual lengths of Campagnolo compatible derailleur cable? I don't need the full set which includes housings and cables for brakes and derailleurs.

I'd imagine gear cable is gear cable. So any bike shop.

I'd agree with the poster above, that gear cable is just gear cable.
Having said that, I needed exactly the same thing before and popped into CycleSuperstore. They ripped open a Campy gear cable/housing set in front of me and handed me a length of cable from it. Charged me a euro or two as I recall.

The brake cables are certainly different, not sure about the gear cables.

I think some may be universal, e.g. Shimano one end, Campagnolo the other.

They are slightly different, the end of it is smaller the Shimano. Any of the bigger shops in town will have them loose. Don't let them try and sell you the whole lot

Yep, the cable ends are different on Camag vs Shimano.

I got some bare Campag gear cable a few years ago from CycleSuperstore. (A few = 4 years  ).

    Best of luck,
    Peter

Exactly. And not much smaller either, so Shimano cables will seem to fit okay, but be a real bugger to get out afterwards.
