Can't take to it but there is some good tracks on it.

    6/10

Brilliant album. Took a couple of listens for it to click with me. Each track is very different but it works well as an album.

It reminds me a bit of think tank the way it gets under your skin and into your head.

I think it's their worst but that doesn't mean it's a bad album. My main gripe is that the first album had Del and Dan the Automator, the second had MF DOOM and Roots Manuva and this one has Kano and Mos Def :/ Sort of a step down of guest rappers.

Definitely starts fading in the later tracks.

    Great album! Gets my 8/10

I don't hate it; But I definitely don't love it.
I'll give it a few more listens before I give up on it.

When I first heard the single Stylo, I wasn't that impressed but after two or three listens I adored it. Same goes for the album, well most of it anyway. The 16 tracks could have been whittled down to 14 or even 12 but there's enough on this album to make it a pleasure.

Love it, been playing for the past few days now. Like said above, didn't like Stylo to begin with but its a definite grower - some instant gems on the album too like Lou Reeds song

Raising my original score upto a 8.5/10. It's a real grower!

I just can't grasp it... gonna give it another listen because I want to like the album, just isn't working for me yet!

"Empire Ants" is a fantastic track - rest of the album is pretty good also.

Fantastic album. If i had a decent hat i'd tip it to Mr Albarn. He really does create some fascinating and catchy music. I think Plastic Beach may be the best Gorillaz album yet

Finally got around to listening to it, pretty good though I agree its a bit longwinded, and a little too many rap songs for my liking.

"On Melancholy Hill" is as gorgeous a song as your likely to hear this year.

really cool album, not a fan or albarn at all, but i like most of the gorillaz stuff, really like the guest spots on this album, especially the MCs

    8.5/10 also

I only liked 1 song on it. poor effort in my opinion.

Plastic Beach is a terrific album, highlights for me are Glitter Freeze (with the brilliant Mark E Smith, and Empire Ants. Great stuff.

Best track on the album for me. Albarn is the master of creating these woozy laid back summery chilled out tunes.

Meh. All the songs have no fluctuation, they're very samey throughout. No climax or anything to really set them apart or make them in any way memorable. Thoroughly disappointed as I can't envision any classics coming out of this album, and really can't just sit there and listen to it without getting ridiculously bored.

On Melancholy Hill sounds like David Kitt to me! Which isn't a bad thing....

anyone who doesn't like it should definately give it another listen or two, it's a real grower, which might not seem like a plus, but that it's not just pure instant gratification music to me is quite refreshing! although i wouldn't agree it's their best album, though come to think of it, i like all of them in different ways! also like the hilariously diverse influences! :P

I'd agree with everyone who said that it's a grower. Wasn't sure what to make of it on first listen but now it's a firm favourite of mine.

Somehow I missed the release of this and only got round to getting it last week, really enjoying it, definitely needs a few listens first though. Superfast Jellyfish has the potential to be a massive hit, don't know why they haven't released it as a single. Other stand out tracks for me are Some Kind of Nature, On Melancholy Hill and Empire Ants. Loving the whole thing at the moment tbh!

They played the highlights of PB at Benicassim - an abosutely fantastic set. Pity that gimp bass player from the Clash wouldn't turn his ****ing amp down, ruined a good 4 songs for me with it's constant deafening thud.
