Years ago I went to a repair place that just did electric repairs. Do these places still exist? or do I have to go to main dealer? Any recommendations for Dublin area?

I had horrid quote to sort faulty door plipper and walked away minus 60 euro to get the quote! Since then I open the drivers side of car via the left hand side doors. Now one of the windows on the lhs is not opening... :( Not the end of the world but next fault to develop might be!

Or maybe I should try the local garage that has competently done services since warranty ran out?

Thanks for that. Time to get something done as now another window is stuck at 'open' and magically the previous stuck on closed started to work a few weeks ago! But horrible expensive. Windows were a known fault with this car and warranty was extended to cover same but now out of warranty.

I assume you mean the button for the remote central locking is not working? Does it just need to be recoded? If so there plenty if locksmiths that do that for around 60. If the button is physically broken it'll normally just be a case of someone handy with a soldering iron and 5 mins work. I had to fix both the keys on my xantia when I got it, good as new now.

Ot but for some reason Citroën decided to mount the pcb sideways and have the buttons on the edge making them quite fragile for people who think buttons work better the harder they are pressed.

They don't work better, they work faster and from further away:D

Yep Confab got it in one! Renault Megane.

I am happy to report that Hamilton's checked out all the windows and gave them a bit of TLC and all working perfectly now... and for very reasonable figure, no need to replace the motor. He quoted half what other place mentioned (come in sets of two but I needed one) if I had needed a new part. He agreed with me about high cost of part but no second hand ones to avail of due to problems with the original ones.

So thumbs up for Hamiltons and for network that is boards.... Location is near Bleeding Horse down a lane off Grantham Street. And thanks to Anan1 for advice.
